L'œil du volcan
L'œil du volcan
Mud volcano in Russia bears strong resemblance to a gigantic human eye.
Russian photographer Mikhail Mikhailov captured this incredible snapshot of the Pugachevskiy mud volcano located on Sakhalin Island in East Russia.
This aerial view of the volcano reveals its striking resemblance to a bloodshot human eye, with grey cleavages mimicking the blood vessels.
The masterpiece of nature is created by eruption. With pressure building up, mud and gas were simultaneously released to the surface of the Earth, piling up to form this unique landscape.
Mikhail Mikhailov said : "I haven’t ever seen anything like this before. There are quite a lot of mud volcanoes in the world and this one is well-known. But I haven’t ever seen it looking like an eye !"
